The coat of arms of the town was approved by the Council of Ministers on January 29, 1982. The passage represents this shield is the Master on horseback and the Commander of Villafranca and Hornachos on foot. The cross in the upper left quarter is the emblem of the Order of Santiago.[3].
Its municipal district borders on the north with Almendralejo and Alange, on the south with Los Santos de Maimona, on the east with Ribera del Fresno and on the west with Fuente del Maestre. Its urban center occupies about 2 square kilometers. By means of regional roads it is possible to accede to localities like Ribera del Fresno, Fuente del Maestre, Aceuchal and Palomas; and by railroad with Llerena for Seville and with Mérida for Madrid.

With the rehabilitation of the old house, the different rooms have been adapted to offices or municipal offices, preserving as much as possible the aesthetics and original materials, such as the wooden vaults or the window grilles, …and incorporating other elements, totally different, to mark the contrast between the old and the renovated. Some of the additions resulting from the renovation are the stairs leading to the second floor, made of slate brought from Norway, also used for the floor of the entire building, the glass and wood railing and the original skylight that gives natural light.
It is a building constructed in stone masonry and mortar, with brick finials. It consists of five bodies of different heights, distributed in a rectangular plan, around a large courtyard. The main building has three floors, an attic and a gable roof, as well as five brick chimneys. The main one measures 24 meters and was used as an outlet for the steam engine fumes. The other four were used for the bread baking ovens.
