Extremadura está situada en el suroeste de España flanqueando Portugal y las zonas de Castilla y León, Castilla La Mancha y Andalucía. Mérida se encuentra en el territorio de Badajoz y fue establecida por los romanos en el año 25 a.C. para convertirse en la capital de su zona occidental de Lusitania. Se encuentra en el cruce romano que une Toledo con Lisboa y Salamanca con Sevilla. Mérida cuenta con uno de los conjuntos de monumentos romanos más excepcionales de Europa. El más inimaginable es el Teatro Romano, con una gloriosa división escénica con columnas y un límite de hasta 6.000 personas. Durante los meses de mediados de año, el auditorio se utiliza con frecuencia para creaciones de espectáculos y celebraciones.

The Provincial Council of Cáceres and the Town Council of Romangordo have organized an act of homage and remembrance to Charo Cordero, who was president of the provincial institution and mayoress of the town, when the first anniversary of her death is about to be celebrated.
Renfe will reestablish from next Monday, the 13th, a total of 18 weekly trains on the Mérida-Zafra and Cáceres-Valencia de Alcántara routes. The new trains that are incorporated to the schedule have been agreed between Renfe and the Junta de Extremadura.
The spokesman of the Board, Juan Antonio González, stressed that the regional executive will work for the General Budget of Extremadura (PGEx) of next year to be approved “not only” with the votes of the PSOE.
